About / Overview

The NJ-ACS Materials Science topical group was established in 2025 and aims to promote and disseminate the research of Materials Science Engineering done in northern NJ. Materials Science is an interdisciplinary field that combines principles from chemistry, physics, and engineering to understand the properties and applications of various solid-state materials. The Materials Science topical group aims to bring together the academics, industrialists, and students within the field in the North Jersey region.

The Materials Science topical group officially kicked-off during the 2025 ACS MidAtlantic Regional Meeting (MARM) at the technical session “Recent Advances in the Development of Optical Materials”.

The Materials Science Topical Group operates under the auspices of the North Jersey Section of the American Chemical Society (NJ-ACS), which is a non-profit organization that qualifies for tax exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code.
