Abstract: This presentation explores the evolution of the linear ion trap, from the LTQ through tribrid architectures to the Stellar MS, highlighting the key innovations that have shaped modern mass spectrometry. It examines how advances in sensitivity, selectivity, and acquisition speed have expanded analytical capabilities for the most challenging assays. This discussion will also explore the unique architecture and capabilities of a hybrid quadrupole linear ion trap, illustrating how its configuration enables fast, sensitive MSn experiments across a range of applications.
