Earth Day is an annual event celebrated in 2023 on April 22 to kick off  Earth Week. Throughout the world events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Established in 1970, Earth Day / Week events are now conducted in more than 193 countries.

To celebrate Earth Week, the ACS and the North Jersey Section (NJACS) conduct an Illustrated Poetry contest each year for kids K-12.
