Westfield High School Student Saluted in Congressional Record
Westfield N.J. High School student Yixiao Wang was presented a copy of the Congressional Record containing praise for his academic excellence and his win of a gold medal at this year's annual International Chemistry Olympiad. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-NJ) inserted remarks praising Wang in the Record and made the presentation Friday, Oct. 2, at the high school which is located in Lance's congressional district

NERM 2009 Opens Fall Regional Meeting Season The 36th ACS Northeast Regional Meeting (NERM) leads off the fall season of ACS Regional Meetings. Hosted by the Connecticut Valley Section, NERM will be held at the Hilton Hartford Hotel and Conference Center, October 7-10, 2009, just as the leaves are turning. Abstracts and advance registration are now open – you can find links to both on the NERM web site.

2021 Baekeland Award
The North Jersey Section of the American Chemical Society will award the 2021 Leo Hendrik Baekeland Award on May 12, 2022, to Dr Prashant K. Jain.
The Section presents the Award biennially to commemorate the technical and industrial achievements of Leo Hendrik Baekeland and to encourage younger chemists to emulate his example.
