ChemTAG
ChemTAG is a group of chemistry teachers who meet monthly
with the purpose of improving high school chemistry instruction.
During meetings, teachers perform demos, ask and answer
questions, swap lab activities, exchange ideas that work for
them and any other activity that helps them to become better
in the classroom. Participants run the Demo Den at the New
Jersey Science Convention each year, and are active with the
Teacher Affiliates of the North Jersey Section supporting
National Chemistry Week and Mole Day. Many meetings involve
make-and-take activities where teachers build devices for
demonstration back at their schools. Meetings are open to all
who might benefit and dates and locations are posted on this
web page:

ChemEnthusiasts
Chemistry teachers in New Jersey are conferencing in cyberspace. ChemEnthusiasts, a Yahoo Group, is sponsored by the North Jersey Section of the American Chemical Society Teacher Affiliate Group.
Like a listserve, members can post messages by e-mail and there is a searchable archive. Discussions have ranged from evaluating software to brainstorming about improving demos.
Files can be stored and shared by all members. There are folders for favorite lab activities, creative demos, opportunities for professional development, research opportunities for students, software evaluation, and useful websites. The calendar reminds the group of ChemTAG and Chem Central meetings.
