This symposium will educate and inform the local polymer science and biomaterials communities on advances in polymers as drugs and polymers for drug delivery. Through a combination of reviews and case histories, the attendees will gain a broad perspective on the directions and growth of polymers in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food and personal care industries. This event features an afternoon of oral presenta-tions by industry and academy leaders, followed by networking and a poster ses-sion/science mixer. A jobs center will be run concurrent to the afternoon program.

Speakers

Aruna Nathan (Johnson & Johnson)

“Novel Polyesters for Drug Delivery Applications”

Narayan Variankaval (Merck)

“Macromolecules in Drug Development:Vignettes from the Pharnaceutical Industry”
