National Chemistry Week (NCW) is a community-based annual event that unites ACS local sections, businesses, schools, and individuals in communicating the importance of chemistry to our quality of life. It takes place each fall, and the North Jersey Section annually conducts several activities as part of NCW.

  • National Chemistry Week 2009  is Oct 18 to Oct 24.
  • The No. Jersey Section's NCW celebration and student poster session  will take place at Liberty Science Center on Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Please circulate and post [ this flyer ].
  • Volunteers are needed on the day of the LSC event. Please see [ call for volunteers ].
  • 2009 Poster Contest  – for students in grades K-12 

    Students are invited to create a poster that celebrates the theme ‘It's Elemental!’. The poster should be fun, motivational and inspire students to learn about one of more elements in the period table

    • The deadline for 2009 poster submissions is Oct 16, 2009.
