We will thus better prepare ACS members for the dynamic and ever changing economic climate.

The Professional Programs Subcommittee of The National Committee on Economic and Professional Affairs (CEPA) will use this survey to establish priorities for new career related program developments to supplement the large selection already available from Career Services. Senior Scientist

The successful candidate will be part of an integrated team with responsibility for various stages of LC-MS/MS assay development and application in the quantitation of drug and metabolite concentrations in body fluids and tissue samples that will support clinical and nonclinical pharmacokinetics studies. The position requires an individual to be capable of using multiple instrument software programs in the semi-automated preparation and analysis of samples, a laboratory information management system (LIMS) for the calibration and quantitation of raw data, and standard word processing and spreadsheet applications in the finalization and reporting of final results. Most of these activities will be performed in compliance with GLP regulations. Routine operation, calibration, maintenance and minor repair of laboratory instrumentation will be required.

Bachelor's Degree in analytical chemistry or a related discipline plus at least 8 years (or M.S. and 6 years) of relevant experience in quantitative analytical techniques involving the extraction and analysis of biological samples using LC-MS/MS. Experience in a GLP laboratory environment, proficiency with personal computer applications for word processing, spreadsheets and graphics, as well as good oral and written communication skills are desirable.

This position supervises the Caco-2 and Physicochemical Profiling group of Pharmaceutical Profiling, Chemical Technologies, Chemical and Screening Sciences, Pearl River. The Sr. Research Scientist II, supervises 2 non-Ph.D. scientists and also performs full-time bench laboratory work using the Caco-2 in vitro permeability method, cell culture, LC/MS/MS, lab automation, data interpretation, timely completion and data reporting, interactive collaboration with medicinal chemists, and independent research. Requires quality scientific performance both in applied and exploratory aspects of drug discovery research. Conducts several experiments, some moderately complex, in parallel. Ph.D. with a minimum of 2 years experience, which may include postdoctoral experience, beyond the Ph.D. or a MS with a minimum of 10-12 years of experience or a BS with a minimum of 12-14 years of experience. Only internal candidates with a BS or MS degree will be considered for this position. Caco-2 assay - at least 2 years beyond academia, experience in the ADMET field, broad knowledge of solubility, permeability, metabolism, robotics and LC/MS/MS - at least 2 years beyond academia, and experience in supervision.
