Earth Day and Street Fair Events
This spring
the North Jersey Section will be participating in Earth Day events and Street
Fairs. This is a way to tell the general
public about chemists and chemistry and it is a way to publicize all the events of the section. In order for us to do this we need you to volunteer
to work at the booth that we will set up at each event. We will also be participating in fall events
which will lead up to Chemistry Week. In
order to make this work we need lots of volunteers. The volunteers do not have to spend a lot of
time at the booth one to two hours will do.
Since most of the events are on the weekends, Saturday or Sunday this
would be a good time to bring you kids to volunteer with you. The Student Affiliate Chapters will also be
at the booth and maybe other student groups.

Set up and Take down
The people who set up and take down need to have a van and live or
work near Hillsborough NJ.
Set up from
about 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM the day of the event
1. Pick
up tent and banner and table covering and boxes of newsprint in Hillsborough NJ
2. Set
up ten and table etc
Take down
from about 5:00 to 7:00 PM
1. Take
down and pack tent
2. Carry
boxes of news print table etc to the cars.
Booth
Volunteers
1. Sign
up for a one to two hour period at the booth
2. Hand
out newsprint balloons talk to kids adults etc.
3. Answer
questions about chemistry do a demo etc.
